Engineering the operations behind AI-driven travel intelligence

Gerard "Gerry" Nielsen serves as Vice President of Operations at Cerebri AI Inc., the Austin-based data science and AI analytics company specializing in corporate travel and expense (T&E) intelligence. In this role, Gerry oversees the operational backbone that powers Cerebri AI's flagship AIQ solution, which uses agentic AI, large language model frameworks, and proprietary data engineering to deliver near real-time analytics on T&E spending for enterprise finance, procurement, and travel teams. Based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, he plays a central role in scaling the company's delivery capabilities as it serves a corporate travel market projected to exceed $1.6 trillion globally.

Gerry brings a deep technical foundation and more than two decades of experience in the travel technology sector to his role at Cerebri AI. Prior to joining the company, he held positions at Serko Ltd., the New Zealand-headquartered online booking and expense management firm, where he developed extensive expertise across the corporate travel and SaaS landscape. His skill set spans software development, agile methodologies, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and the .NET stack, complemented by a strong orientation toward lean operational practices, a focus reflected in his professional identity as "leankiwi" online.

Gerry holds a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Liverpool, which he completed in 2018. The combination of hands-on engineering experience, lean operations discipline, and formal training in information systems management has positioned him to bridge the gap between Cerebri AI's technical teams and its enterprise customers, ensuring that the company's AI-driven products are delivered with the reliability and rigor that finance-grade analytics demand.
